What was the Great Depression? Believe it or not some people don't know what the Great Depression is. The Great Depression was an economic slump that happened in Europe, North America and other parts of the world. It began in the year 1929 and lasted till the year 1939. It was the worst and longest depression that the industrialized Western world got. It all started in the United States but then quickly spread to the European economies after World War I.

What was the Dust Bowl? The Dust Bowl basically was that for eight years dust blew on the southern plains. It was yellowish brown haze that scattered from the South and the rolling walls of blacks from the North. Everyday life was hard as you can imagine eating a meal, breathing, taking a walk were no longer that simple to do like we can now a days. It was so bad that children had to wear dusk mask to and coming back from school. In order to try to make better living conditions the women hung wet sheets over the windows to try to stop the dirt. For the farmers it was also bad because they basically saw the crops blow away there was nothing that they could do about it. The Southern Plains were really affected with this event that lasted about a decade the Northern Plains didn't have that much damage.

As you can see or if you can't the theme that I chose was Jealousy. The reason that I chose this pictures was because they show different ways of jealousy occuring. Also doesn't matter age as you can see in the last picture.

Third Quarter #6 Elizabethan era
http://fashionhistory.zeesonlinespace.net/elizabethan.html
In the Elizabethan Era the fashion was really important. Women would be wearing lots of clothing and they actually had a hard time putting on all the clothing so someone had to help them put on the clothing. Even if you were a man just like the women they would be wearing wigs to. Believe it or not man put on makeup just like women. But during this time period it wasn't strange for them. Also all the clothing that they had long ago was made with real fabric and jewls all the clothes was probably expensive.

Third Quarter #3 Raisin in the Sun
Maybe a month ago and some weeks as a assigment for English class we read the book "A Raisin in the Sun's, " by Lorraine Hansberry. Basically the book is about a colored family that live in the southside of Chicago, IL. In the book itself it talks about how the family is srtuggling with money. And once they receieve a check they decide or a certain family member decides to go buy a house because the house that they are currently living in is to small and in really bad shape. The only bad thing though is that Mama decides to buy the new house in a white neighborhood. And in this time periods colored people and white people still don't get along that well. In a way my family and I sort of have it similar to we once moved and also bought this house. Once we got there though we noticed that there was only white people there. At first we could totally tell that they didn't like that us Mexicans moved into there. After a few weeks though they noticed that we weren't bad people and they started to accept us that's the difference from us and the book. They probably had a bad image of us Mexicans so that's how it's similar.

I agree with you about relating to the story I feel the same way you do. It always hasn't been easy at home sometimes it was hard knowing if the food in the fridge was going to last the whole week. We aren't rich like other people we have a low income to. And about the whole situation with your mother spending money on somethings that you really don't need well that's the same thing with my father. Overall we have the same feelings and ideas.
